Meet Carolyn and Bob Gosselin, owners of Chicken Salad Chick of Tallahassee - Apalachee. Carolyn, who had lived in Orlando, FL, for almost 30 years, was asked to consult with Chicken Salad Chick to assist in developing the brand positioning, marketing materials, and initial media relation initiatives as the new franchisor began attracting franchisees. Carolyn traveled from Orlando to Auburn twice a month, and her friends continually asked her to “bring some Fancy Nancy, Buffalo Barclay, and Cranberry Kelli” back to Orlando. After a few trips running chicken salad across the border, she knew the product was special and wanted to open stores of her own.
Carolyn drafted the business plan and spent some time with founders Stacy and Kevin Brown, and then her husband Bob was on board. Because the franchisor wanted all locations to be within four hours of Auburn, Carolyn and Bob chose Tallahassee. Currently, they reside in the Florida capital and enjoy introducing Chicken Salad Chick to North Florida.
A die-hard football fan, Carolyn is a University of Florida Gator and Bob is a faithful FSU Seminole. Her favorite customer feedback came from a woman who loved the food so much, she did a “yummy dance.” Her favorite Chick is the Cranberry Kelly, while Bob loves Olivia’s Old South- a perfect combination of chicken salad, sweet pickles, and eggs. Having a party? They both recommend Buffalo Barclay, Kickin’ Kay Lynee, and Jalapeno Holly.
